Today we are thrilled to introduce you to Alison and Meredith, founders and co-owners, Lindsay Taylor SPAtique. Located in bucolic Westborough, Massachusetts, SPAtique really stands out as the leading spa in the greater western Massachusetts area. Discover more in the following Q&A.
Previse, “What inspired you to open Lindsay Taylor SPAtique?”
Alison, “Meredith and I were actually planning on opening two separate small businesses in town. They would have been almost next door to one another. Meredith suggested we merge our talents to create a powerhouse team and facility. Meredith’s esthetic philosophies and business ethics are exceptional, which made the suggestion of a partnership very exciting.
From the beginning we wanted to bring to our community the best in skin and body care. Though we have a few competitors in the area, none rival our level of knowledge, passion and skill.
We have nearly 50 years of experience in the field.”
It was very important we only offer our cherished clients clean products with no harmful ingredients. They had to be beneficial to the skin, beneficial to the body, and not harmful to the environment.”
Previse, “We noticed that your menu of services includes oncology care. What inspired you to create services for people who are going through treatments, survivors and their caretakers?”
Alison, “I took the Oncology Esthetics certification class about two years ago. That was also about the same time that I started to formulate a plan of having my own business. I’ve managed several spas in the past and knew the time it takes to make things the way they should be. While raising my child I knew I didn’t want to sacrifice motherhood. But as an empty nester I was busy working three jobs in the aesthetic field. It was then when I knew I had to strike out and own a business.
At the same time I was enrolled in my oncology course my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. I learned first hand what it meant to be a care taker.”
After my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer I started noticing first-hand the concerns and challenges I was being taught in school. We chose ZeroFragrance because it’s clean, and without any fragrance, which is ideal for clients who are going through chemotherapy. We also love it for our clients with sensitive skin!
Taking care of our skin can be a major investment in time and money. What advice do you have for those of us who don’t have the budget or ability to complete ten-step routine?
Meredith, “One of the things that attracted us to Previse in the first place is the simplicity. We love that we can tell our clients that this short, but effective, routine will only take them a few moments in the morning and the evening, and they do not need to spend a fortune!
Successful skin health is only achieved with consistency. Keeping a client’s routine simple, and something they only do twice-daily at home, helps to ensure consistency. Gentle cleansing followed by effective moisturizing can lead to long-lasting skin health and beauty.
For instance, Previse Purify cleansers are pH balanced and do not contain sulfates or harsh detergents. Purify replaces other cleansers that may dry, irritate or strip skin. Combined with Nutrify and Defend, your three-step program shows results that we see in our clients, and clients see at home!
